Tony Molinaro Scholarship



Tony Molinaro was an exceptional special education teacher and administrator who was the first recipient of the G-CASE Lillie N. Moncus Award for Special Education Administrator of the Year. He died unexpectedly at a relatively young age. In his honor, a scholarship fund was established to enable special educators, especially special education administrators, to attend the International Council for Exceptional Children Annual Convention. Each year two $1,000 scholarships are available for special education administrators, with a preference for at least one of the awards being given to a beginning special education administrator in the first 5 years of service. Recipients of this award must be members of G-CASE, CASE and CEC.

r  Must be a current CEC, CASE and G-CASE. member

r  Must be currently employed as a GA special education administrator


Requirements:  Recipients must write an article for the G-CASE newsletter upon return and provide documentation of expenses totaling at least $1000, including documentation of registration for the CEC Convention before reimbursement is given. (Note: You will not be reimbursed for the cost of a rental car. You may be reimbursed for the cost of a shuttle to and from the airport to the hotel.) Recipients are expected to attend the CASE Membership meeting.

r  Must include at least one (1) letter of recommendation from a teacher or administrator who can address the applicant’s leadership skills. 

r  The letter of recommendation must include an endorsement by a current G-CASE member.

r  Completed applications must be post-marked by February 10, 2017

r  If you use Google forms to send in your application please make sure you send in all other required documentation as well


Award:  Recipients will be notified the week of February 13, 2017
